YEREVAN.- Demands of the Armenian National Congress on snap elections are not realistic, said MP form ruling Republican Party Mkrtich Minasyan, adding that it is senseless to discuss the issue.

“Opposition’s decision to form a delegation was also senseless as we can discuss the existing problems without any delegations. President Serzh Sargsyan will decide himself whether to respond or no, he is authorized to do it,” he said.

Minasyan said the opposition’s demand to hold snap elections is just a caprice, something unrealizable, as there is no political and social ground for early elections in the country.

The ANC has recently formed a 5-member delegation to hold talks with the Armenian authorities. However, country’s leadership has not responded yet.
