The objective of an army of Turan might be implemented in the future. This is what Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, Turkologist Ruben Safrastyan said during a press conference on Wednesday.
According to him, at this moment, this is simply a rumor that Turkey is using within the scope of foreign policy.
“The Pan-Turkish ideology, which is one of the foundations of Ankara’s foreign policy, is manifested, including through the expansion of military cooperation with Turkic-speaking countries,” he mentioned and added that Pan-Turkism is not the only ideological basis of Turkey’s foreign policy since there are also elements of Pan-Islamism and Neo-Ottomanism that lie therein.
