YEREVAN. - Pentagon cannot ignore the fact that the Karabakh issue is a key problem both for Armenia and Azerbaijan which creates difficulties for U.S. in relations with these countries, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia Celeste Wallander said in an interview with RFE/RL. 

According to her, Pentagon intends to focus on the issues where it can render constructive assistance to Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Defense Department’s aim is to assist the countries which will enable them to increase contribution to strengthening of international security, she added.
