Criminal boss Armen Kazarian, (nicknamed Pzo), charged with cheating Medicare out of $100 million, pleaded guilty to racketeering charges on Friday, Voice of America reports.

Last month Kazarian made a deal with prosecutors agreeing to plead guilty to making threats and other crimes in exchange for the light sentence. Federal District Judge Paul Gardephe warned that Kazarian could not appeal if he was “sentenced to 37 months or less”.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, Armenian criminals and their associates used phantom health care clinics and other means to try to cheat Medicare out of $100 million, the largest fraud by one criminal enterprise in the program’s history. The operation was under the protection of an Armenian crime boss Armen Kazarian, nicknamed Pzo He was also among the first arrestees in Los Angeles.
