YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: The process of amnesty for the servicemen who took part in the 44-day war [in the fall of 2020] [and are convicted of committing crimes] has started again.

In particular, Zhoghovurd daily learned from its sources that discussions on this matter have started again in the law enforcement system. According to the information we received, the law enforcement representatives believe that the amnesty process is much needed for the facilitation of criminal cases. As a result, a new discussion of the draft amnesty for the military has started—on these grounds—at the law enforcement system, new additions are being made to the old text, and it is not ruled out that in the near future the new draft will be posted on the single platform of electronic drafts.

As it is known, the RA Investigative Committee had proposed such a draft in August 2021. It was posted on that platform, but later the process was stopped. Now they will try to grant amnesty again (…).
