YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: An addendum will be made to the RA Law on Aviation, as a result of which airlines may be fined.

Zhoghovurd daily learned that the carrier would be liable for transporting the passenger with false travel documents, with violation of the requirements of international medical and sanitary rules.

That is, the airline will be accountable for the protection and care of passengers and crew members at the airport of Armenia—from the moment of leaving the plane until the issuance of a permit to enter the RA territory by the body carrying out border control.

Moreover, it will also be accountable in case of refusal—by the body carrying out border control for the protection and care of passengers at the airport—of the passenger of the given flight to enter the RA territory in accordance with the established procedure.

A fine will be imposed for failure to meet these requirements, which will contribute to the proper performance of the airline's specified accountability by international standards before passengers. Zhoghovurd daily learned that in case of non-fulfillment of these requirements, the airline will be fined in the amount of 500 thousand drams.
