YEREVAN. – The number of road police officers, patrolling Yerevan streets will be decreased due to photo and video surveillance equipment installed in Yerevan roads and crossroads, Deputy Chief of Armenian Police Artur Osikyan told Thursday.

According to him, the officers affected by the modernization process will not lose their positions but will get new jobs in the law enforcement system.

Swedish Sensis Trafik, dealing with installation works will make an investment of 9.8 million Euros and will get 70 percent of annual fines till the overall volume of investment is reimbursed.
