YEREVAN. - Karabakh war participant stand with the President of Armenia. They are ready to rush into battle for the country, raise Armenian flag in Baku and remind the Azerbaijanis of 1994, when they pled for truce, said the chairman of Parapants military-patriotic union of Karabakh war participants Grisha Sargsyan.
According to him, Karabakh war veterans who constitute a significant portion of the electorate demand that the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan would not talk with the enemy on equal terms and took a position befitting the winner - strong and unwavering.
According to Goyamart party chairman Sergey Kazaryan, the president must refuse the imposed Madrid Principles on Karabakh resolution, withdraw the signature from Armenian-Turkish protocols, and pursue further negotiations on the Karabakh conflict only with participation of Nagorno-Karabakh side.
"We have increased the army and strengthen the defense of our country for 20 years at the cost of unimaginable losses. It’s time to re-unite and solve the internal and external problems challenging us today,” said Kazaryan.
The event gathered representatives of political, social, national and military-patriotic organizations operating in Armenia. They came up with the text of a statement, which will soon be sent to UN Security Council member-states, the European Union and the Council of Europe, as well as co-chairs of OSCE Minsk Group. More than 50 organizations co-authored the statement.
