YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: Considering the fact that after the 44-day war both Armenia and Azerbaijan are talking about establishing peace, and although Azerbaijan continues to shoot and cause casualties to the Armenian side, on March 17 the Armenian Foreign Ministry applied to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship to organize negotiations in order to sign a peace agreement with Azerbaijan.
Zhoghovurd daily tried to find out the viewpoint of the OSCE Minsk Group member states on the processes. In this regard, we asked a few questions to US Ambassador to RA Lynne M. Tracy.
Zhoghovurd daily received a general answer to these questions from the US Embassy, which we present without reduction: "The United States remains committed to building a peaceful, democratic, and prosperous future in the South Caucasus. We, as a Minsk Group Co-Chair, call on Armenia and Azerbaijan to continue and expand diplomatic contacts to find comprehensive solutions to all unresolved issues. The United States stands ready to support the efforts of Armenia and Azerbaijan in this regard. We also propose to get acquainted with the press releases of [US] Secretary [of State] Blinken's recent telephonic conversations with [Armenian] Prime Minister Pashinyan and [Azerbaijani] President Aliyev."
