YEREVAN.- Swiss Dufry has acquired duty free stores in Yerevan’s Zvartnots airport and twenty other airports of Corporacion America company which belong to Argentinean Armenian businessman Eduardo Eurnekian.

The deal is estimated at $957 million, Uruguay’s El Pais reports. Spokesperson for “Armenia” International Airports CJSC Gevork Abrahamyan confirmed information for Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to the report of Eurnekian’s holding, the sold business showed good momentum last year and recorded double-digit gains.

The purchase will be divided into two parts. The first will include a number of stores at Latin American airports with a total area of ​​8,000 square meters and gains totaling $250 million in 2010.

The second group includes two stores at airports of Uruguay (Montevideo and Punta del Este) in Ecuador’s Guayaquil and at Zvartnots airport . Placed on a total area of ​​5,500 meters, these stores’ profit totaled $85 million last year.

This July, Corporacion America signed an agreement with the Armenian Ministry of Economy  to establish a free economic zone at the Zvartnots airport.
