YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes. The statement on Rustam Bakoyan—an MP of the NA [(National Assembly)] [ruling majority] "Civil Contract" Faction—subjecting his common-law wife to beating reached the NSS [(National Security Service)]. In particular, MP Bakoyan's common-law wife had made a noteworthy statement, noting: "Rustam Bakoyan told me, ‘Publicize whatever you want; we are invincible.’"
According to the woman, Bakoyan beat her, demanded money. NA "Civil Contract" Faction MP Rustam Bakoyan had denied the information, noting: "I have two things to say. First, the disseminated information does not correspond to reality. Second, the case is at the prosecutor's office, it is in the investigation phase. I have petitioned, they will inform me whether or not they are already investigating the case. That's all I can say."
And, here, Zhoghovurd daily petitioned to the Prosecutor General's Office to learn about the investigation process, from where they informed in response: "That publication has been sent to the RA NSS to carry out inspection actions in connection with the circumstances noted in it."
