The chimney in the picture fell off the roof of our house. It fell a couple of months ago, in a severe thunderstorm with a gale force wind. It fell, miraculously without hitting anyone. It made a dent in the fender of a car. Since then, the pipe is lying in the yard, practically knocked into the asphalt, and no one cares. Garbage trucks pass by every day, but they don't take it away. Their function is to clean the trash cans, and the pipe is not shoveled into the container. Cleaners in uniform vests pass by every day. But they don't clean the pipe either, you can't sweep it with a broom.

Another miracle happened a couple of weeks ago. Again in a strong wind a huge slab fell off the facing of the building. And again miraculously the children playing in the yard weren't hurt. Even the cars were not hurt. Only the naked eye can see that many of the facing slabs - installed under the Soviet Union - need fixing. Indifferent tenants called the Ministry of Emergency Situations, in order to strengthen the dangling boards. But even then it turned out that it is not the function of the Ministry of Emergency Situations to reinforce the plates. And all they can do is write a protocol and give it to the mayor's office. At the same time they were told in confidence that such badly fixed slabs can't be seen in the city. And meanwhile the question is about a busy road to school, kindergarten and sports school. Less than a week is left before the start of the school year.

But the dangers lurk not only from above. When going out in the street, do not lose vigilance and look carefully under your feet. In general, streets of Yerevan are full of surprises: potholes, holes, open manholes, NEWS.am had reported about one such manhole. It must be given credit that after the publication, the hatch was covered with a robust cover. But what cannot be said about this manhole, in the middle of the sidewalk at the roundabout of Andranik and Babajanyan streets. The gaping manhole is "carefully" covered with pieces of curb. It has been like this for already several months.

How long will "miracles" happen, pipes and slabs fly past children and adults, science does not know. What is known, however, is that sooner or later a tragedy could occur, as happened at the Surmalu mall, where the 4 tons of pyrotechnic products stored, according to official data, exploded one ill-fated day, killing sixteen people.

It's like the proverb says: until the thunder sounds, no one cares about pipes and stoves hanging in the air, manholes without lids, and tons of pyrotechnics in a crowded place.
