YEREVAN. – Armenian Special Investigation Service did not complete the investigation for the former Head of Department of Criminal Investigations of Armenian police Hovhannes Tamamyan.
The Service intends to prolong the arrest for another two months, Armenian News-NEWS.am sources inform. Tamamyan has been under arrest since March 24. His arrest ends on Sunday. However, the police stated it needs at least a month to complete the case and send it to the court.
As was earlier informed, on February 26, Chief of Armenian Police Alik Sargsyan signed a decree firing Head of Department of Criminal Investigations of Armenian police Hovhannes Tamamyan and chief of Arabkir police department Varazdat Adamyan. The decision was made at the request of the Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan. Tamamyan was arrested for concealing the guilty person in one of the criminal cases, Armenian media reported.
