French President Emmanuel Macron said during his speech at the Munich Security Conference that he will continue to support Armenia and its Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

According to Armenpress, most of Macron's speech was devoted to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, but the French president also touched on the situation in the South Caucasus.

"In a few days there is the anniversary of Russia's illegal aggression against Ukraine, and although we cannot draw final conclusions, we can take stock of this year and share some perspectives. Naturally, the core of my speech will be the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine, but I should mention that we are not forgetting the ongoing wars in the Caucasus, the Middle East, Africa, counterterrorism, nuclear security and other issues.

Our task today is to explain, to make it clear that Russia is a force sowing instability and chaos, which it is doing not only in Ukraine, but also in the Caucasus, in the Middle East, in Africa, most recently with the intervention of the Wagner Group.

How can we believe that the challenges of the Caucasus can be overcome by the neocolonial Russia I described earlier? I say this in the presence of my friend, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, whom we will continue to support, and with whom we will continue to act," Macron said.
