TBILISI. - During the plenary session of Georgia’s Parliament opposition MP Petre Mamradze was slapped in the face for making statements about the Russian-Georgian war of 2008, informs Georgian News.

“I claim that Michael Sahakashvili provoked the August events,” announced Mamradze.

He had barely finished his statement when the chairman of the Environment and Natural resources Protection Committee Akakiy Bobokhidze slapped him on the face.

The parliament bailiffs separated them but for several minutes the parliament was in tension. The MPs shouted that “Moscow gave Mamradze a call” and that “Mamradze carries out Moscow’s order”.
