YEREVAN. - It’s obvious that the authorities stopped on midway and the time approaches for people to join the game, said coordinator of opposition Armenian National Congress Levon Zurabyan to a press conference on Tuesday.

‘‘We have many times stated that in September the authorities must decide on the issue of early elections. Technically, there is still time before September 30 but I do not believe there is anyone in Armenia still having the illusion that authorities will go for concessions. They were ready to make concessions under the influence of our powerful spring rallies. Now the authorities apparently stopped on halfway. They believe the tensions subsided and there is no need for further concessions. They do not realize that the tension subsided because people expect their demands to be met through negotiations," he said.

According to the opposition activist, this was the reason ANC sought to bring the voice of people to the authorities through negotiations but is now forced to admit: the authorities do not perceive the current situation soberly.

"Consequently, today the time comes when people should again come into play and bring their voices to the authorities directly - rallies, determination and concrete actions," concluded Zurabyan.
