YEREVAN. – In September 2011, Armenia’s 12-month inflation rate again surpassed the 4+-1.5 percent range specified by the law and it constituted 6.2 percent, National Statistical Service informed, adding that August inflation rate was 4.8 percent.    

As expected, acceleration in the inflation rate occurred on the account of neutralizing the effects of seasonal factors. 

It is not a coincidence that the highest inflation rate of 10.3 percent was registered in food items. Inflation rate of non-food items comprised 3.5 percent, and that of services, 2.2 percent.  

Price of sugar increased by 46.4 percent, on a 12-month basis, and 20.9 percent, on monthly basis. In September 2011, inflation rate in the prices of dairy products grew by 22.7 percent, in comparison with September 2010, and by 1.2 percent, in comparison with August 2011.
