YEREVAN. – The political struggle, which became visible in recent years in the country, was aimed only at the judicial reform, ruling Republican MP Spartak Melikyan said on Tuesday. The greatest benefit from this reform, MP believes, received the chairman of the Cassation Court Arman Mkrtumyan and chairman of the Criminal Chamber of the same court David Avetisyan.

“Majority of court decisions are subjected to their personal interests. Judges who do not obey their orders are simply dismissed,” Melikyan said. “People accused in minor thefts and violations are punished by law, while authors of large-scale robberies and those who are to carry the responsibility of the loss of the soldiers in the army are in freedom.”

The MP passed his salary to Mkrtumyan since August last year ‘to moderate his appetite in a way.’
