YEREVAN. – No one died or injured during 2007 till October 2011 as a result of landslides, Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) press service informs.

According to MES, 2007 registered 7 cases of landslides, 2 occurred in the Tavush Region, 1 in the Lori Region. In 2008 5 cases were registered, 1 was in the Lori Region. In 2009 9 cases were registered, 3 were in the Tavush Region. In 2010 19 cases were registered, 9 were in the Tavush Region, 6 in the Lori Region. This year registered 11 cases, 5 were in the Tavush Region, 2 in Lori Region.

The major landslide occurred on October 2 in Armenian Tavush region. As of October 5, five people are still missing, vehicles are still under terrain, while 7 people are injured.
