Armenia continues to be in the domain of high economic activity. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government, referring to the latest data published by the Statistical Committee.

"I will record with pleasure that in May of this year a 13.7-percent increase was recorded in economic activity index compared to May of the previous year," said Pashinyan, reminding that in May 2022, quite high economic activity was already recorded, at 10.8 percent, in Armenia.

"In May, compared to May last year, productivity increased by 5.3 percent, construction—by 18.4 percent, trade—by 28.6 percent, services—by 12.3 percent," the PM said.

"We have a very happy fact: we have a certain decline in inflation, and it was 1.3 percent in May," the Armenian premier noted.

"The five-month [i.e. January to May] indicators of this year are also encouraging; the growth of the economic activity index—12.5 percent. In five months, industry grew by 3 percent, construction—by 16.7 percent, trade—by 24 percent, services—by 19.9 percent. It is delightful that we have a considerable increase in exports—by around 93 percent. This makes us quite happy," stated the Armenian PM.
