The Statistical Committee of Armenia presented the country's main demographic indicators for the first half of 2023.
Accordingly, in January-May, a total of 14,227 babies were born in Armenia—an increase by 4.7 percent compared to 2022—and 10,699 people died—a drop by 16.4 percent. During the same period in 2022, a total of 13,581 births and 12,800 deaths were recorded in Armenia.
This January-May, a total of 6,469 marriages—practically unchanged compared to 2022—and 1,793 divorces—a drop by 3.4 percent—were registered in Armenia. In the same period of last year, a total of 6,477 marriages and 1,858 divorces were recorded.
The viability factor of Armenia’s society is 133 percent.
And according to the registrations carried out at the border checkpoints of Armenia, a total of 1,629,733 people entered, and 1,642,096 people left the country this January-May.
