In both the 2018 and 2021 programs of our government, a special place is given to the development of the stock market. And I am happy to report that we have taken steps, some legislative changes, on that road. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government.

The PM added that a certain assistance mechanism has been created in this regard.

Minister of finance Vahe Hovhannisyan, for his part, noted that the Armenian government and the Ministry of Finance play a significant role in the development of Armenia’s capital market in the sense that the liquidity of state treasury bonds and their market development have a considerable impact and shape the country’s market.

“Here I must note with great joy that interest in our bonds has changed significantly in recent months, and we have great interest from the world's largest investment organizations and banks that are keen to invest in state treasury bonds denominated in [Armenian] drams," the finance minister added, in particular.
