A census commenced in Armenia on Wednesday and it will continue until October 21. The National Commission on Preparation and Conduct of Census was established, in this connection, and it is chaired by Deputy PM and Regional Governance Minister Armen Gevorgyan.

Aside from personal data, the census questionnaire also includes queries on access to computer or Internet link, receiving funds from abroad, availability of toilettes—and even their types—availability of bathrooms or showers, etc.      

Pursuant to the law, the census questionnaire cannot include inquiries that are not intended for statistical purposes.

According to Armenia’s Law on Census, a census must be conducted in Armenia every ten years. The first census was conducted in 2001.
