Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, on Wednesday received newly appointed Polish Ambassador Piotr Skwiecinski, the NA reports.
Active cooperation between the parliaments of Armenia and Poland was discussed at the meeting. Simonyan reflected on his official visit to Poland last month, and assessed it as productive and important. Speaking of the interaction between the legislators of the two countries, it was considered necessary to strengthen the interaction of their parliamentary delegations within international platforms, in particular, in sensitive issues for each other.
The role and importance of the Armenian community in Poland was highlighted, too.
Also, the interlocutors discussed the many security challenges in the region, the consequences of the Lachin corridor crisis, as well as the belligerent statements by the Azerbaijani authorities and the continued military provocations by the Azerbaijani army. In this context, Alen Simonyan attached great importance to the deployment of the EU monitoring mission in Armenia in terms of ensuring security and stability in the region.
