A part of the Khot-Vorotan road under construction in Syunik Province remained under the mudslide at the end of July. The camera crew of Sputnik Armenia was at the scene.

It was found that a collapse occurred after heavy rains; a boulder collapsed on the road, as a result of which some parts of this road were damaged. One part just flowed away with the water, and the others were blocked.

The collapse happened at night.

Fortunately no one was injured.

As a result, the residents of Vorotan, Bardzravan, and Shurnukh villages had to use bypass roads within two weeks to reach Goris city.

Traffic on the road has been restored, but there is a risk of new collapses.

The need to reconstruct the Khot-Vorotan road arose after the Azerbaijani side closed off the Goris-Kapan motorway. This road has become the only one connecting Vorotan village with the outside world.
