A direct dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan is needed to resolve this long-standing conflict, US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller told Lurer.
"We have seen the reports and offer our sincere condolences to the families of the deceased. We have consistently said that direct dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan is essential to resolving this longstanding conflict. There can be no military solution to the conflict, and the use of force to resolve disputes is not acceptable. The United States remains committed to promoting a peaceful, and prosperous future for the South Caucasus region," Miller said.
