Trial of the proprietor of Armenia’s Akhtala Mine Enrichment Plant and American-Armenian businessman Serop Der-Boghossian, who is charged with child molestation, continued on Thursday at Lori Region’s Court of First Instance. During the session, which was held behind closed doors, Der-Boghossian was questioned by prosecutor Aram Amirzadyan.

According to the prosecutor, the questioning was fairly comprehensive. During a briefing with news reporters, Amirzadyan also informed that even though Der-Boghossian regrets his actions, he does not accept the charges made against him.

“He does not consider himself guilty, but he begs forgiveness from the people, those victims, for his actions, and regrets,” Amirzadyan stated, but adding: “It is bizarre for me Serop Der-Boghossian’s statement that his rejection of his guilt is linked to the mutual desire between him and the young boys.”

Next court session will be held on October 19.
