YEREVAN. – Reforms in the business environment could cause certain problems for the collection of some types of tax, Armenian Minister of Finance Vache Gabrielyan on Tuesday told Armenian News-NEWS.am, reflecting on the statement made last week by Gagik Khachatryan, Chairman of Armenian Government’s State Revenue Committee.

During an EU-supported workshop, which was held in capital Yerevan on October 12 and which was devoted to customs reforms, Khachatryan had said: “Our state does not have sufficient opportunities to carry out reforms at the expense of the loss of income tax.”   

According to Gabrielyan, however, reforms toward improving business environment would adversely affect income tax only for a brief period of time, after which “those losses would be compensated.”
