YEREVAN. – The United States appreciates Armenia’s contribution to international and regional security and underscores the collaboration with Armenia in those domains, US Assistant Secretary of State on Arms Control Rose Gottemoeller stated during her meeting on Tuesday with Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian.  

Welcoming the guest, Nalbandian expressed with satisfaction that cooperation between Armenia and US also incorporates the domain of arms control, and he underscored the American delegation’s visit, MFA Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Rose Gottemoeller underlined that the United States appreciates Armenia’s contribution to international and regional security and underscores the collaboration with Armenia in those domains. 

Edward Nalbandian stressed that Armenia continues to observe the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE) as a pillar of security and stability in Europe, and considers it necessary to modernize the Treaty and to continue its implementation.      

In the context of implementing CFE Treaty, Armenian FM invited US Assistant Secretary of State’s attention on Azerbaijan’s clear violation of the commitments specified by the Treaty and its regular threats to use force, for years on end.
