The fire at Yerevan State University (YSU) has been extinguished. We learn about this from the Facebook page of the YSU rector's assistant-spokesperson, Knar Misakyan.

"A fire broke out in one of the rooms on the basement floor of the 1st building of YSU. Now the fire is extinguished, corresponding actions are being carried out. According to the initial theory, the fire was caused by an electricity fluctuation. Later, we will issue an additional statement," the YSU spox wrote, in particular.

At around 9:40am Friday, 911 emergency hotline of Armenia received a call informing that a fire had broken out in a YSU building.

According to preliminary data, there is one casualty as a result of an explosion at YSU, and three people have been injured and hospitalized, informs the Ministry of Health of Armenia.

Additional information will be provided regarding the health condition of the injured.
