Within the framework of the KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) affair, the Turkish police detained Ragip Zarakolu, a well-known human rights activist and director of Belge Publishing House, in Turkey.
Zarakolu was taken into custody on Friday, during a large-scale manhunt in Istanbul against Kurdish activists, Firat News Agency reported.
His son, Deniz Zarakolu, was arrested on October 4.
Ragip Zarakolu’s Belge Publishing House has published numerous books on the Armenian Genocide, and Zarakolu had visited Armenia in Spring 2011.
