After the ratification of the Rome Statute, it is necessary to bring the legislation of Armenia into line with it. The Minister of Justice of Armenia, Grigor Minasyan, stated this at Monday’s press conference to sum up their activities in 2023.

"After ratification, the most important process is the adoption of legal and normative acts, or changing the existing laws [in Armenia]. For this purpose, the experience of other countries—for example, Georgia's—was studied," the justice minister noted.

According to him, the aforesaid process will be carried out in close cooperation with international experts.

And when asked how this will help in the detection of past war crimes, Minasyan noted that this will enable to engage international prosecutors and investigators, and in this way, Armenia will involve this process in the work of international investigative and legal institutions.
