YEREVAN. - Twelve changes will soon be made in Armenia’s ruling elite, Zhoghovurd daily writes.        

“Police Chief Alik Sargsyan was dismissed yesterday (Monday). He will be appointed Deputy Chief of the Armenian Presidential Staff. Deputy Defense Minister Vladimir Gasparyan will be appointed Police Chief. But it is not clear as to who would be appointed at MOD in Gasparyan’s place; it is also possible that this job could be terminated for good. Armed Forces Chief of Staff Yury Khachaturov will be dismissed, too, and Deputy Defense Minister Alik Mirzabekyan will be appointed in his stead. Rumors were circulating yesterday evening that Deputy PM and Regional Governance Minister Armen Gevorgyan has submitted his resignation, but his spokesperson Zoya Barseghyan denied this news. Our sources at the ruling elite, however, claim that the order for dismissing Gevorgyan will be made public today or tomorrow,” Zhoghovurd writes.
