YEREVAN. – During Wednesday’s consultation, Armenia’s Minister of Transport and Communication, Manuk Vardanyan, noted he is not happy with the activities of the country’s Transportation Inspectorate.     

The consultation brought together heads of the Inspectorate’s regional divisions.

The Minister was reported on the Inspectorate’s activities, in the first nine months of this year, including the fines issued for different violations, and these fines have increased considerably, the Minister’s Press Secretary Susanna Tonoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.      

This notwithstanding, Minister Vardanyan expressed a dissatisfaction with the Inspectorate’s activities, and gave the respective persons in charge one month to correct and improve the situation, in the capital Yerevan and in the regions alike.   

Vardanyan also noted that cases of extortion are observed in the Inspectorate’s activities, and he invited the attention on strengthening supervision, and tightening discipline and inspector-bus station cooperation.
