YEREVAN. – Because of his forthcoming resignation, Armenia’s National Assembly (NA) Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan decided to console NA staff members by giving them a “bonus pay,” in the amount of their one-month salary, Hraparak daily writes.   

“To note, Hovik Abrahamyan will submit his resignation at NA session, on Monday, and he subsequently must head [the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia] RPA Campaign Headquarters. By the way, NA MPs’ assistants did not receive ‘bonus pays.’ But the entire staff was so happy that one could think it was dreaming [of the day] when NA Speaker was to resign,” Hraparak writes.
