YEREVAN. – Recent session of ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia’ (RPA) Spitak city Council was held under a rather tense atmosphere, Zhoghovurd daily’s well-informed sources reported.
“As a result, 6-7 RPA members were discharged from the Party, for ‘playing games’ with other parties. In a telephone interview with Zhoghovurd, RPA Spitak Council Chairman, MP Hovhannes Sahakyan confirmed what had transpired, but did not specify as to why the RPA members were discharged. ‘It is a party discipline matter as a result of which, Council of the Party’s regional body reached a decision to discharge them from RPA. This yet again shows that RPA is a living organism, where we not only accept into, but also discharge from, the Party,’ Sahakyan said,” Zhoghovurd daily writes.
