YEREVAN. - Armenian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan’s resignation, which he had announced on November 14, will be considered accepted, if he does not withdraw his announcement, on Monday.
And as NA Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am, Hovik Abrahamyan already submitted his resignation, on Monday, which means his resignation is accepted.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, during the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia’s (RPA) Board session, which was held days before his resignation and to which President Serzh Sargsyan also attended, it was decided that Abrahamyan would now head RPA Election Campaign Headquarters. As per RPA sources, upon receiving this proposal, Abrahamyan had suggested that he resign from his capacity as NA Speaker and solely conduct election-related activities.
Subsequently Mikayel Minasyan, First Deputy Chief of Armenia’s Presidential Staff, also submitted his resignation and announced he will help Hovik Abrahamyan at the aforesaid Campaign Headquarters.
