YEREVAN. – Armenian capital Yerevan’s Arabkir District Tax Inspectorate ended its inspections at businesswoman Silva Hambardzumyan’s Kalach Company, Haykakan Zhamanak daily writes. On Tuesday, Hambardzumyan informed the daily that no tax violation was registered.     

“In response to our correspondent’s question as to whether the tax inspectorate’s peaceful departure means a dealing was made along the lines of the criminal cases connected to Syunik Regional Governor and [ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia] RPA member Surik Khachatryan, Hambardzumyan said she would reconcile with the Regional Governor only if he made a public apology and returned the 102-million-dram-(US$ 264,740)-worth equipment, which he had stolen from her, or paid the amount.        

To note, the [Special Investigation Service] SIS has launched two criminal cases on the basis of Hambardzumyan’s statements. With the first, the businesswoman accuses the Syunik Regional Governor of stealing her property, and, with the second, of beating her at [Yerevan’s Armenia] Marriott Hotel,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
