YEREVAN. - The ruling coalition’s Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Chairman and businessman, Gagik Tsarukyan, who was celebrating his 55th birthday in Dubai, returned to capital Yerevan, Hraparak daily writes.
“[But] Prior to that, we received information that Gagik Tsarukyan had called Police Chief Vova [Vladimir] Gasparyan, from Dubai, and demanded explanations concerning the arrests of his supporters. [And] According to some information, the Police Chief responded by saying these are ‘just the beginning.’
To the question whether such conversation had taken place between Tsarukyan and the newly appointed Police Chief, PAP Spokesperson Baghdasar Mheryan said the following to the paper: ‘I cannot comment on this, at this time; I will speak with Mr. Tsarukyan. But as an MP and Party Chairman, Mr. Tsarukyan certainly could call the Police Chief and ask for, or demand, an explanation,’” Hraparak writes.
