YEREVAN. – Discussion on the occasion of elaborating new policy on developing Armenia’s economy took place headed by the Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan. Representatives of World Bank, Parliament and Government participated in the event.

“Armenia needs to have a new economic project with its main directions, priorities and actions. Armenia had such a project of steady development years ago. However, it was subjected to changes as a result of world crisis,” PM said.

According to Sargsyan, Armenia is currently in the stage of competition, governmental press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Armenia registered increase during the last 20 years. It needs to use all privileges and sources, human resources and potential of economic growth to promote further development,” World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus Asad Alam said adding that flexible policy should be developed. “Armenia’s vision for future should be set. Even if part of the program is realized, it would be a huge step.”

PM thanked Alam for his participation in the discussion, sharing international experience and presenting new ideas for Armenia’s economic future.
