Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: The matter of the agrément of RA Ambassador Vladimir Karapetyan, who has been illegally serving in Ukraine for more than 4 months [now], seems to have been resolved, he is leaving for Italy. He was appointed ambassador on June 1, 2021, for 3 years, the term expired on June 1, 2024, but the RA MFA and the RA President did not issue a decree either to recall [him] or extend the term.

For almost 2 months, MFA has not answered on what basis Karapetyan continues to work. The name of the candidate for the RA's new ambassador to Ukraine is also circulating. According to some reports, Hambardzum Matevosyan, former deputy prime minister, now advisor to the prime minister, will be sent to Kyiv.

Matevosyan told us yesterday that he is hearing about it for the first time; he hastened to inform that he is the prime minister's adviser. "I feel very good in this position, and I try to fulfill the instructions given to me."

Matevosyan studied abroad and has work experience in Ukraine: in 2013-2015 he worked in Donetsk as an advisor to the honorary consul of Armenia. He was dismissed from the position of deputy prime minister in December 2022, after the rigged elections of the [ruling] CC [(Civil Contract Party)] board, when it became clear that they had done [ballot] stuffing in his favor, too.

As a result, Matevosyan did not become a member of the CC board. But they were especially dissatisfied with his work due to the elections at Brusov University, when, being the chairman of the board of trustees, he could not pass [PM Nikol] Pashinyan's candidate, Davit Gyurjinyan, and they had to make him the rector with shameful violations of the law.
