Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that four people were killed in a terrorist attack at the facility of the defense company TUSAŞ near Ankara, RIA Novosti reports.

According to Turkish media, an explosion went off Wednesday in the Kahramankazan district of Ankara near the building of the Turkish corporation TUSAŞ - a manufacturer of military aircraft and space equipment, followed by gunfire. The Ankara Prosecutor General's Office has launched an investigation into the terrorist attack.

During a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Kazan, he thanked for condolences over the terrorist attack.

“I thank you for your condolences. We have four dead,” Erdogan said.

TUSAŞ is developing Turkey's fifth-generation Kaan fighter jet, Anka attack drones and modernizing F-16 fighter jets. In addition to the production center, the USET spacecraft and satellite testing center is located in the area.
