YEREVAN. - Football fans organized a protest demonstration with the slogan “Hrazdan is ours” expressing their protest against the construction of a mall near the stadium.

The participants of the demonstration started their initiative from the statue of Vardan Mamikonyan in Yerevan downtown, walked to the city hall and hand their protest letter to mayor Taron Margaryan. The president of Armenia’s Football Federation, oligarch and MP Ruben Hayrapetyan also participated in the march.

He informed reporters that he will do everything in his power to save the stadium.

“The destruction of such a construction will not be forgiven by generations. I will do everything, I will lie in front of the excavator,” he said.
