US President Joe Biden and his European Union (EU) colleagues will discuss, at the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro the possibility of strengthening Ukraine's position before the inauguration of President-elected Donald Trump, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan announced at a press briefing.

As for Ukraine, Biden will have an opportunity to discuss next steps with his EU colleagues, including increasing arms supply, allocating all resources provided by the US Congress, and exploring other opportunities to strengthen Ukraine in a way that will best convey that affairs to the next US administration, Sullivan said.

He explained that it is, in particular, about increasing Europe's role in assisting Ukraine.

The US will insist that the European countries' assistance to Ukraine continues and strengthens, emphasized the US National Security Advisor.

According to Sullivan, the US and its allies aim to put Ukraine in the most advantageous position on the battlefield to provide it with the maximum possible leverage before the negotiations.
