Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: The RA MFA does not explain why Armenia, which took over the EAEU [i.e. the Eurasian Economic Union] chairmanship for 1 year since January, asked that the regular EAEU session be held in Russia, not in Yerevan, about which the Russian side reported yesterday.

Meanwhile, diplomatic sources claim that back on May 8, [Armenian] Nikol Pashinyan personally requested that the session be held not in Yerevan, but in Russia. By the way, Pashinyan will chair the session.

The thing is that although Armenia is the EAEU chairing country, already the second summit is taking place not in Armenia, but in Russia. In May, Armenia had agreed to hold the summit on the occasion of the anniversary—the 10th anniversary—of the EAEU in Moscow. The reason for making such a request is the Rome Statute, which has been ratified by the RA authorities and provides that if Russian President [Vladimir] Putin visits Armenia, he be arrested and handed over to the Rome court.

In fact, Pashinyan has become the "victim" of his next adventuristic move and the object of ridicule in the eyes of foreign partners. On the one hand, he fulfills the demands of the West; on the other hand, he does not want to burn bridges with the RF.
