Syrian President Bashar al-Assad could accept Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's proposal to normalize relations due to the sharp escalation of the situation in the northern regions of Syria, reports Turkish pro-government Hurriyet daily.
"Assad, who does not shake President Erdogan's hand which he persistently extended to him for a year, has realized the price of his mistake. But it is not too late. Under the new conditions, Assad can shake Erdogan's hand," wrote Hurriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi.
