Hraparak daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: A group made up of 13-14 members of the European Union's monitoring mission [in Armenia] is permanently stationed in Jermuk [city]. (…).

The residents of Jermuk said that the monitors go around the [Vayots Dzor] province almost every day—they go to the border [with Azerbaijan]; they follow the situation a few kilometers from the border. The European monitors have almost no contact with the local administration—they do not request, convey any information, and no one knows what their activity is expressed in.

However, everyone notes in unison that the arrival of the European monitors has made the residents of Jermuk very happy—with their presence, people feel protected. And the residents of Jermuk associate the absence of aggression on the part of the Azerbaijani side after 2022 with the presence of the monitors and want them to stay. The monitors often go out on the street, communicate with the residents of Jermuk, and are always interested in how people treat them.

And they believe that the Azerbaijani army, perched on a mountainside, which carried out fortification work back in [20]22 and is watching the city from above, has left the area as soon as the cold [weather] came, but will come back in the spring.
