YEREVAN. – The information which was circulated in the press for a long time, that Armenia’s Control Chamber (CC) is carrying out inspections at Kotayk Region’s Abovyan City Hall, was finally confirmed Tuesday. The mayor there is Karo Guloyan, son-in-law of Gagik Tsarukyan, the ruling coalition’s Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Chairman, Haykakan Zhamanak daily writes.

“The CC inspections in Abovyan, and in Kotayk Region, in general, were planned during the most intense flare-up of relations between the [coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia] RPA and PAP. [And] Throughout this time CC and CC Chairman Ishkhan Zakaryan were denying that inspections were being conducted at Abovyan City Hall. The Chamber’s press service officially informed us yesterday [Tuesday] that, by the CC Chairman’s decision on November 7, inspections are conducted at Abovyan, Hrazdan, and Yeghvard city halls, from November 14 to December 15. ‘At present, the inspections in Abovyan are underway,’ CC informed,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
