Federal police detained former Brazilian Defense Minister Walter Braga Netto on Saturday, Reuters reported, citing its sources.
Braga Netto was also chief of staff to the country's former president Jair Bolsonaro and ran with him for vice president during Bolsonaro's failed bid for re-election in 2022.
In November, federal police accused Braga Netto of plotting a government takeover to overturn the results of that election.
