The second group of Syrian Armenians arrived in Armenia Tuesday on a Beirut-Yerevan flight.

Speaking with Armenian News-NEWS.am at Yerevan's Zvartnots International Airport, these Armenians from Syria and Lebanon talked about the situation there in recent days, their feelings, and their decision to come to Armenia.

"We did not feel safe there. Although many people had started to return to their daily work and life, we did not feel safe, there was uncertainty," said a Syrian Armenian, and noted that they still do not know how long they will stay in Armenia and are following the development of events.

"Only a few explosions were heard and the city was surrounded. The groups came, they were strangers to us. Although they said that they won't do anything to us, we did not feel safe," the Syrian Armenian added.

Seta Sefetian, who arrived in Armenia from Homs, Syria, said that although the situation was more peaceful in recent days, there are concerns among the local Armenians, and many of them want to come to Armenia.

"They promise that everything will be the same, but we are still waiting to see what will happen. It is an uncertain situation. They are foreigners, they belong to a fanatical other nation," Sefetian said, talking about the opposition forces that came to power in Syria.
